The design has been inspired by Celtic Knotwork - Celtic knots are endless paths and so represent eternity and never ending this can be in love, faith, loyalty, and friendship. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.

This roundel has been created from scratch – I leaded the raw glass disc (which was cut to specification by my local glazier), outlined the design on the glass before painting it. The roundel was then fired in an oven according to the paint manufacturer's instructions making the item colourfast.
